2. Geological and panoramic route

Places of interest: the geological museum in the open air of Cava dei Gessi (Gypsum quarry), the view of the badlands

The itinerary begins in the parking area of the Church of Monticino, about 1.5 km from the train station. In front of the entrance of the parking lot one goes on following the path in the wood, marked with the cross and the symbol of the snail of the Sentiero del Tempo (Path of Time), and walking it up to the small bridge for 300 m.
One turns left to enter the geological museum of the Cava di Gesso (Gypsum quarry) up to the exit for about 450 m, where there is a green gate on the right.
